I was at the Brownstone for the first time on Feb. 23rd for a retirement dinner for Marianne C. I'm just speechless! What a beautiful place. The food was outrageous and the staff is second to none! The shrimp in the shrimp cocktail were the size of lobsters! The crab cakes were delicious and that is HUGE compliment. I'm a Maryland girl and I don't eat crab cakes in NJ unless I make my own. The beefsteak just melted in my mouth. I have to say, I had foot surgery last month and this party was my first time out for an extended period. From out of nowhere one of the waiters came over and sat plates of the hors d'oevres in front of me and said if I needed anything at all to let him know. I didn't find out until later that Marianne told him I shouldn't be walking and to take care of me. He was coming to me all night asking if he could make me plates of food. What a doll! Mare and I laughed about it all night long. And everyone else at our table were wondering why I was getting the "star" treatment when it was Marianne's party! hahaha. Anyway, I just wanted to say all of the food was just the best I've ever tasted. The service was out of this world and it was certainly a night I'll remember for a very long time. You'll need to open a Brownstone II in Central NJ! I'd love it!
Thanks for doing what you do. As one of the waiters said when we thanked him,
"That's the Brownstone way"
